Khalistan Liberation Force Chief Harminder Singh Mintoo Arrested at Delhi:-
A Sikh militant chief who ran away after 10 gunmen appeared at Punjab Nabha jail was caught by the Delhi Cops from a railway station early morning on Monday.
The self-styled chief of the Khalistan Liberation Force, Harminder Singh Mintoo, who was escaped on Sunday from the Nabha Jail in Paitala with his assistants and four gangsters, was arrested from Nizamuddin place, special commissioner of police (special cell) Arvind Deep said.
“Punjab Cops had doubt about his activity in Delhi and they approached Delhi Cops. Following intense checking and tracking, he was caught from the railway station,” the official said after the arrest around 3am.
The police arrest followed the interrogation of Palwinder Singh alias Pinda, one of the 10 gunmen to attack the prison.
Pinda was in the car in which Mintoo was driven off from the prison when he was caught in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli late on Weekend.
He informed the Uttar Pradesh Cops that the two of them journeyed together until Panipat in Haryana, which is 85km from Delhi, where Mintoo got off to move to Delhi.
The UP Cops notified their Delhi Cells. Mintoo was preparing to take protection with a comparative in western Delhi’s Subhash Nagar, resources said.
“He was caught after he made contact with one of his family members in Subhash Nagar. The intercepted telephone call helped in the police arrest,” news agency IANS estimated a senior official of the Delhi Police’s special cell as saying.
A Punjab Cops man in Chandigarh said a group would move for Delhi to bring back the militant.
Ten gunmen clothed as cops deceived their way into the Nabha prison on Weekend early morning. They fired more than 200 rounds before getting out of with the six prisoners in three vehicles.
The Bollywood style strike survived not more than 10 minutes. From this, it was clear that the assailants were acquainted with the prison routine and layout. One of the gangsters who runaway decided the operation, Pinda informed cops.
